First Student Parliament of India


























                                            FIRST INDIAN STUDENT PARLIAMENT

What a wonderful programme it has been so far ! 
I am talking about first Indian Student Parliament organised by MAEEr's MIT, Pune with various objectives like to create awareness among students about various issues, to provide a platform to raise their voice, to focus on social, political, cultural, economic issues which require immediate action & it's probable solution, etc.


Today was the 2nd day of this unprecedented event adressed by various eminent and great personalities across the country like A P J Abdul Kalam, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Narayan Murthy, Ashutosh Gowarikar & many more.....

Session 1
           The todays event started with none other than India's missile man & former president Mr.(Dr.) APJ Abdul Kalam. As always, his simplicity & humbleness touched all hearts. What a personality !!!! One of the best mother India has ever produced.
             Mr. Kalam addressed all ignited young minds of  India with his knowledgeable & inspiring speech. In his address he touched various aspects like his Vision 2020, Indian political system, his experiences with youth all across the globe and many more. 
              To become successful he asked students to be unique.  

Session 2
           This session was addressed by spiritual guru Shri Shri Ravi shankar. He discussed on the topic INDIA VS BHARAT: Urban Rural Divide & It's Spiritual Contribution. Shri Shri gave some tips to students and also highlighted importance of honesty, humanity, commitment etc. He also stressed on need of moving from GDP to GDH (Gross Domestic Happiness).
His following statement got maximum appreciation from all.
He said, "learn marketing from Americans, teamwork from Japan, perfection from Germany, manners from Britain, duplication from China and humanity from India..!"

Session 3
It was the time for creating awareness among youth about our Mother Earth i.e. environment. Dr. Vandana Shiva, a noted ecologist shared her views on Threats to Environment. She threw light on various learnings from nature such as live for others, enjoy the life with less exploitation, etc.

Session 4:
It was a post lunch session on topic Youth Participation In Democracy. Various young leaders shared their views. Participants were Mr. Abhijeet Panse, Maharashtra president, BVP, Mr. Chand Babu Rehman, Mr. Jitendra Awhad, MLA, NCP.

Session 5:
This was todays second most awaited session adressed by none other than Mr. N R Narayan Murthy. He talked about Information Technology & Globalisation. He stated that increase in use of IT in democracy will    ensure transparency which will lead to further progress in accountability & improving democracy. Also he talked about difference between multinational corporations & globalised corporations.

Session 6:
This was the final session for today on topic Is Today's Media & Entertainment Far Away From Reality ?. The guest was Oscar nominated Film's director Mr. Ashutosh Gowarikar. He expressed that media is source of information as well as entertainment. Audience should accept good things and resist bad things.
Mr. Gowarikar also said, "Democracy means power & power is knowledge." Further he added, "Education should move to rural India. So power will move. & media is one of the best platform to do so."
He also revealed that he is working on Swades part II.

So this is all about Student parliament of India, day all..............
